Freedom
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom). [Isa. 61:1, 2.] And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”
As a mother and a daughter of a great mother, I relate well to the Spirit of God. The word of God says that the spirit of God is a comforter, teacher and guide. I love that whenever we encounter the Spirit of the Lord, all the junk of the world is wiped away and we are free. We are free to be ourselves. We are free to let go of doubt and fear. Being in the presence of God’s spirit breaks of negative thinking and we actually become a mirror of God’s glory to the world around us. I don’t always look at myself as a mirror of the God of the universe.
It is important to know who we are, and how God values us in order to mirror his love and glory to the dying world around us. If you are struggling with seeing yourself made in the image of God and/or picturing yourself as a mirror of his glory you can just say this prayer with me.
God I thank you for making me in your image. I thank you for giving me your spirit to guide and comfort me. I thank you God for breaking off my negative thoughts and insecurities. I ask you God to remind of how you see me. I ask that you would help me to see myself in your eyes so I can share your glory with those around me. In Jesus name amen.
